Poplar.​ ​Poplar​ ​wood​ ​is​ ​considered​ ​a​ ​hardwood.​ ​​ ​It​ ​has​ ​a​ ​white/ivory​ ​tone​ ​with​ ​green​ ​or​ ​brown​ ​streaks​ ​running​ ​through​ ​the​ ​heartwood​ ​of​ ​the​ ​board.​ ​The​ ​wood​ ​is​ ​straight​ ​grained​ ​and​ ​uniform​ ​in​ ​texture.​ ​It​ ​has​ ​a​ ​medium​ ​density​ ​which​ ​allows​ ​paints​ ​and​ ​stains​ ​to​ ​adhere​ ​very​ ​well.​ ​It​ ​is​ ​not​ ​recommended​ ​for​ ​use​ ​in​ ​outdoor​ ​locations​ ​where​ ​it​ ​will​ ​be​ ​subjected​ ​to​ ​rain,​ ​ice,​ ​or​ ​snow.​ ​​ ​It​ ​can​ ​be​ ​used​ ​in​ ​an​ ​outside​ ​covered​ ​or​ ​protective​ ​environment​ ​if​ ​sealed​ ​with​ ​a​ ​UV​ ​protectorate.

While​ ​it​ ​is​ ​certainly​ ​fine​ ​to​ ​drill​ ​through​ ​the​ ​front​ ​of​ ​these​ ​racks​ ​to​ ​install​ ​mounting​ ​screws,​ ​we​ ​prefer​ ​a​ ​rear​ ​mount​ ​option​ ​to​ ​avoid​ ​compromising​ ​the​ ​esthetics​ ​of​ ​your​ ​rack.​ ​​ ​We​ ​offer​ ​rear​ ​mount​ ​options​ ​to​ ​suit​ ​your​ ​needs.​ ​​ ​Please​ ​see​ ​our​ ​photos​ ​for​ ​examples​ ​of​ ​each​ ​of​ ​these​ ​options.

•​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​Z​ ​–​ ​Bracket​ ​–​ ​It​ ​consists​ ​of​ ​two​ ​aluminum​ ​interlocking​ ​brackets.​ ​The​ ​aircraft​ ​grade​ ​aluminum​ ​brackets​ ​will​ ​not​ ​corrode​ ​and​ ​can​ ​be​ ​used​ ​indoors​ ​or​ ​outdoors​ ​on​ ​all​ ​surfaces.​ ​The​ ​system​ ​is​ ​compatible​ ​with​ ​various​ ​types​ ​of​ ​fasteners,​ ​and​ ​can​ ​be​ ​adjusted​ ​left​ ​or​ ​right.​ ​

•​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​Key​ ​Hole​ ​–​ ​It​ ​consists​ ​of​ ​small​ ​mounting​ ​brackets​ ​shaped​ ​similar​ ​to​ ​an​ ​upside​ ​down​ ​keyhole​ ​with​ ​a​ ​round​ ​hole​ ​at​ ​the​ ​bottom​ ​and​ ​a​ ​slot​ ​extending​ ​up​ ​from​ ​the​ ​hole.​ ​The​ ​hole​ ​is​ ​larger​ ​than​ ​the​ ​head​ ​of​ ​the​ ​provided​ ​screws​ ​while​ ​the​ ​slot​ ​is​ ​narrower​ ​than​ ​the​ ​head.​ ​This​ ​allows​ ​you​ ​to​ ​easily​ ​slip​ ​the​ ​hole​ ​over​ ​the​ ​head​ ​of​ ​the​ ​screw​ ​and​ ​then​ ​slide​ ​the​ ​slot​ ​down​ ​to​ ​securely​ ​hold​ ​the​ ​object​ ​against​ ​the​ ​wall.
